Bridging Storytelling & Positive Psychology

Being our Best – Bridging Storytelling & Positive PsychologyThere is a lot of wisdom embedded in traditional tales: compassion, curiosity, gratitude, forgiveness are among the strengths and virtues displayed in the world's myth and folktale traditions. Such stories are like the self-help books of our ancestors, time capsules of good advice for dealing with adversity and living well. In short, they teach us how to be at our best.
Positive Psychology is about what makes people function at their optimum; what makes us most happy, creative and co-operative. It is about the elements of wellbeing. This workshop will explore the links between the ancient wisdom of story and the modern science of well-being. It will interest those who work with stories in education, health or environmental action as well as those wanting to know more about Positive Psychology.
The course will be run in the tranquil and beautiful setting of Cae Mabon in North Wales led by Steve Killick and Eric Maddern and runs from Thursday evening 23rd to Sunday 26th Sept 2010
