The following is effectively a repost, but I couldn't easily find it the last time I looked. And no, I'm not thrilled that it's still the way things are. It may just be a function of my lack of skills, but I don't believe so.
The website still isn't right in this area, especially with regard to price (the
pages with the relevant text and links are not easy to get changed) - but
the means to pay £25 for SfS members to add a directory entry exist, as a convoluted work around:
Front Page: Click on Directory of Storytellers button in left column
Now on the right column find "If you would like to be listed on this page
you can find the information and fees if you click here." and indeed click
here
Now you'll see
"Click here to enter your details electronically and send a request for
yourself to be added the storyteller directory."
Click Here indeed. Ignore the comment about £75 (but watch you don't pay
this much by mistake later)
Fill in the details, click the "Submit Button". If you later find out the details
are wrong, send me an email (there's no way for you to directly fix them
once submitted)
Either then pay by cheque, or go back to the Home page of the website.
DO NOT CLICK ON "Pay Via Paypal" here - it will charge the wrong price.
It's no problem if you split submitting details and paying between two
browser sessions.
If paying by Paypal, click on "Shop" in the left hand column
Click on "Memberships" in the centre column
Click on "Directory Annual Fee - Members" - this should take you to
PayPal. Check the browser bar to be sure that you are indeed in Paypal,
have an SSL padlock showing, and generally be very careful with your
Paypal details. The SfS never gets to see things like your Paypal
password, but it is always possible something may try to spoof you at this
point, for instance by redirecting you to the wrong site.
Check you are being asked to pay £25, and if you are, then pay.
There's a lot to be said for then separately sending Tina Bilbe
(admin@sfs.org.uk) an email to say you've done all this. It should all work,
but...
And apologies that we haven't got it better than this at the moment. There
are issues .
